The Chinese manufacturers are better known as a low-cost suppliers, but this cliché is actually not true, because with ZTE, Huawei and last but not least Xiaomi, there are some manufacturers that make real high-end smartphones. The new Mi2 Xiaomi phone fits the bill. Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad core processor, which is clocked at 1.5 GHz and an Adreno 320 graphic unit on board, the Mi2 is anything but low end. The 4.3-inch IPS display offers a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The cellulari dual sim itself has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash memory installed.
On the back of the smartphone is an 8-megapixel camera with a 27mm wide angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture, which can accommodate eight frames per second and Full HD video. Wow! On the front there is a 2-megapixel cam as well. The Mi2 comes with a 2000mAh Acer As07a32 Battery that can be replaced if necessary, with a 300mAh extended life cell phone battery. As with most Xiaomi smartphones, this one runs the too highly customized MIUI surface and Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” is used as the base. There’s also a new language assistant included like Apple’s Siri, which is sure to make life easier for Chinese consumers. What’s most special about this phone is the price. The Xiaomi Mi2 will be available in China in October with all its different colors at a price of only 1999 yuan, which is the equivalent of just $314. Sound good?
