Laptops have become very useful mobile device the daily activities especially for those who often work more mobile. And the Battery of laptop is one of the critical components that must be use. Many laptop users get serious problems with their battery that drop quickly even though the laptop is new.
How treat the battery to be more durable and can be used much longer?
- Minimize the screen brightness. Usually I don’t like my notebook screen too brightness because it make my eyes get tired very soon. In my experience, by turn down the screen brightness, it can make your laptop battery life more longer for 45 minutes to an hour. Turn down the brightness of the LCD panel (via the Function-key combo, or in the Control Panel’s Display Settings dialog) to the lowest level you can tolerate. The backlight sucks power like the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
- Use screen savers ‘ Blank ‘
Screen saver that can deplete the battery. Therefore, use a screen saver ‘Blank’. How? right-click on the Desktop and select Properties. Its will appear Display Properties dialog box, select the Screen Saver tab.
- Set the battery power
In Ms Windows have features that power options. Through this feature you can manage the power consumption of laptop. Very easy to do. Click the button Start, open the Control Panel and then double click the Power icon Options.
- Turn off bluetooth and wireless device (wifi). Many notebook add some device like bluetooh and wireless. Did you recognize if they make your battery laptop drain faster? It will search the nearby device (bluetooth) or hotspot (wireless). If they are not find it, they still keep try to search it. Just turn both of them off right now! Use it if you want to use and turn it off again after already done.
- Sleep Is Good
Use the operating system’s power-management features (in Windows XP, under Power Options in the Control Panel)
- Lay Off the Multimedia
A little in-flight music is nice while you construct that PowerPoint presentation, but streaming music from your hard drive (or playing a CD) means the disk (or disc) is always spinning.
- Install more memory/RAM.
I recommend you to install RAM 1Gb minimum to make your hard drive not too often spinning. This will speed up your system and will make it so your hard drive doesn’t have to do as much work.
- Watch Scheduled Tasks
Be sure that your periodic virus scan is set to a time when you’re usually plugged in; running a full-disk virus check keeps the hard drive and CPU fully engaged for the better part of an hour.
- Don’t use battery if you work with latop more than 4 hours. Plug your laptop cable to AC power.
